This covers the the technical standards for programmes that have been commissioned by BBC Television for London delivery, either directly (eg studio or OB contributions) or on tape (e.g. Digital Betacam). Quick Guide to BBC TV Quality & Technical Standards.
We have produced two pocket guides for programme makers. The Quality guide complements the Technical guide. Whereas the Technical Guide sets out the facts and figures behind technically correct programmes, the Quality Guide (which is currently unavailable) helps with more subjective areas of production but which still need attention in order to pass the Technical Review.
Copies of the Technical Guide available free from dqm@bbc.co.uk
This is intended for production staff, including technicians and producers, and independent production companies providing programmes for BBC Scotland 'opt-out' transmission (i.e. programmes which will, on their first transmission, transmit from BBC Scotland premises).
This summary relates to the BBC HD Channel
This guide is intended for programme-makers delivering to Worldwide and is designed to be used with the Worldwide Technical Delivery Standards.
