This covers the the technical standards for programmes that have been commissioned by BBC Television for London delivery, either directly (eg studio or OB contributions) or on tape (e.g. Digital Betacam). It also covers basic programme delivery for BBC Worldwide, but more specific information regarding international delivery is given in the Worldwide standard.

Quick Guide to BBC TV Quality & Technical Standards.

We have produced two pocket guides for programme makers. The Quality guide complements the Technical guide. Whereas the Technical Guide sets out the facts and figures behind technically correct programmes, the Quality Guide (which is currently unavailable) helps with more subjective areas of production – but which still need attention in order to pass the Technical Review.

Copies of the Technical Guide available free from dqm@bbc.co.uk
