Digital - It's BIG but it's not scary
New ways to get the BBC
BBC iPlayer is an easy-to-use catch-up service that lets you watch and listen to your favourite TV and radio programmes when you like, on your computer. You can watch and listen to your favourite BBC programmes for up to seven days after the programme has been broadcast. With 'Series Catch-Up' you can catch up with all the episodes so far from a selection of BBC series.
The programmes are free for UK licence fee payers, at high quality and with no advertising. Once you have downloaded a programme to your computer you have 30 days within which to start watching and seven days to finish watching it. After this time, the programme will automatically be deleted.
BBC iPlayer is available on a host of platforms including: PC, Mac, Linux, Virgin Media, Apple iPhone and touch, Nintendo Wii and the Nokia N96.
You can now watch live BBC TV coverage of major sports events and watch video of the latest news and sport stories.
Two BBC channels offer clips and short features on current programmes such as EastEnders and Doctor Who, and clips from the archives including Spooks and Top Gear.
It's now possible to receive digital TV on a computer – even a laptop – with a special digital terrestrial television adapter and aerial that plugs into a USB slot. Contact a retailer or look online for more information.
Listen live to any of the BBC's national, regional and local radio stations, or use the Listen Again feature to catch up with a programme you may have missed for up to seven days after broadcast.
A wide range of packages is on offer, from the Best Bits of Chris Evans on Radio 2 to daily news highlights and weekly Radio 4 documentaries.
For breaking news, live sports scores and results, the weather forecast for your area, preview clips of the newest BBC TV shows, the latest from Radio 1 and much more on your mobile device, head to BBC Mobile.
You can catch up with the last seven days of BBC TV and radio with BBC iPlayer on some of the more recent mobile devices over wireless and 3G connections.
As well as catch-up TV & radio on your mobile using BBC iPlayer, there’s live TV and radio too. A new 'beta' (evaluation) service, accessed from the BBC Mobile site on a selection of mobile devices, lets you watch BBC Three, BBC Four, CBBC, CBeebies, BBC News and BBC Parliament live, and listen to most of the national radio networks too.
