This section depicts the Copyright Grid to position your copyright line and requirements for programmes for BBC , Open University and UKTV Copyright Lines.

Generic copyright line artwork is not available for independent programmes as the copyright line requirement will vary according to each independent company.

Positioning the Copyright Line

Grid for copyright line

All end credits copyright lines should sit within this grid (shown in red). This grid is 16 pixels in height. 490 pixels from top of screen to top of grid. 70 pixels from bottom of screen to bottom of grid. Range according to end frame design. Individual channel names should not be included in the copyright line


Copyright for BBC programmes

During the licence period, the copyright line must appear in the following style:

  • © [producer name] [year]
  • the entire copyright line must be in the corporate typeface
  • [producer name] represents the name of the independent company producing the programme and should be in upper and lower case
  • [year] represents the year of first transmission of the programme and should be in Roman numerals
  • there must be no use of bold, underlined or italicised text

    Text for Copyright and For BBC - Minimum height of 16 Paintbox or 17 Aston television lines

    They must: be static and either cut or mix on, be in white or black only, be placed at the foot of the final card

    The copyright lines is dependent on channel and should appear in the following style:
