UKTV
Formed in 1997, UKTV is an independent commercial joint venture, between BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm of the BBC, and Virgin Media.
Attracting 36.5 million viewers each month, the network is mid-way through an ambitious rebrand of its 10 distinctive TV channels - Watch, G.O.L.D., Dave, Alibi, Eden, Blighty, UKTV History (soon to become Yesterday), UKTV Style, UKTV Food, and UKTV Gardens. UKTV currently operates 18 broadcast streams when multiplexes (+1s) and broadband are taken into account, offering a broad range of quality programming across entertainment, lifestyle and factual programming, and 11 complementary websites.
Promising to creatively connect its audiences with great programming, UKTV's successful programming strategy combines quality content from the BBC with high profile original commissions and key acquisitions.
All UKTV channels are distributed on Sky and Virgin Media. Dave and UKTV History / Yesterday are also available on Freeview.

BBC Prime
BBC Prime, the BBC's international entertainment channel for Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa commissions only a very small amount of programming each year. BBC Japan and a tailor-made Asian version of BBC Prime for Hong Kong launched on December 1st 2004. BBC Prime/Japan are new television channels for Asia, offering the best British entertainment programmes around, from Drama to Comedy, Documentaries to Lifestyle. BBC Food BBC Food is Appetising Television. It showcases the best in food and cookery for an international audience. The channel is currently available in South Africa, Scandinavia (Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Iceland) and the Middle East. BBC America BBC America showcases the best of the BBC's drama and entertainment programmes in North America. This digital cable and satellite channel does not directly commission programmes but occassionally invests in UK programmes in production to increase their suitability for the US market.
