About Us
Commissioning in the Knowledge genre has changed, and eight new commissioning editor roles have been created. The new roles have amended remits, and now commission from both independent and inhouse producers.
You can read more about the new structure here . We've provided answers to some questions and you can view an organogram .

The Genre teams commission all the programmes for the channels. The entire process - editorial, business, finance and delivery - is handled within the genre teams.

You can pitch ideas all year round under our rolling commissioning system that offers a "one stop shop" for programme makers in each genre.
Doing Business With Us
Our business section provides full information on working with us - including the Code of Practice for the BBC's Dealings with the Independent Sector , our Terms of Trade and our Complaints procedure about the commissioning process.
