Learning
Learning is now integrated into Knowledge commissioning and comprises both Formal Learning and Informal Campaigns.
Formal Learning is responsible for commissioning and delivering content to learners of all ages across all platforms. We focus on direct delivery to the learner whether in school, college or at home but recognise the crucial roles of parents and teachers as well. These offers combine to form a unique breadth and depth of learning tools, materials and environments.
Formal Learning divides broadly into 5-19s Learning and Adult Learning.

Campaigns
The BBC is in a unique position to inspire audiences to take action that makes a difference not just to them but, to their families, communities and the nation as a whole. Learning through active participation lies at the core of the kinds of campaigns we commission.
Learning Campaigns range from ambitious, mass-appeal pan-BBC projects, such as Breathing Places, to targeted campaigns based on great content such as The Secret Life of The Manic Depressive. They can cover a number of topics ranging from lifeskills such as health, wealth and family relationships to essential skills such as adult literacy, numeracy and technology. We also support passions campaigns which will help people further their interests - such as history, music or the arts - and will leverage the BBC's special skills and resources.
Programmes should motivate our audiences to participate. We are looking for powerful ideas that work on BBC One, Two and Three and in Daytime across all genres including, health, mental wellbeing, digital literacy, arts engagement for kids, parenting, nature participation & social action for 16-25s.
Ideas should be submitted to the normal genre teams who will identify proposals with Campaigns potential. Make sure you label your submission as a candidate for Learning Campaigns.
