Radio 7 provides speech-based entertainment for both adults and children. Its schedule includes the best of contemporary and archive comedy, drama, stories, features, unabridged readings and programmes aimed specifically at children. Most programmes come from the BBC archive. The station commissions some children's programming from independent production companies (see below). Some programmes - such as stand-up comedy, short form drama, science fiction, fantasy and horror - are sourced from existing commercial catalogues.
Radio 7 has made some changes to its schedule and as part of these changes CBeebies will be broadcasting children's programmes between 0500–0800 every day.
CBeebies is the BBC's multi-platform brand for children 6 years and under. Audio content is an important part of the CBeebies offering and CBeebies on Radio 7 aims to stimulate children's imagination and inspire their creativity. Our programming blends storytelling, music, quizzes and humour with our philosophy of "learning through play". While there are limited opportunities to commission original content, the Controller of CBeebies is pleased to receive proposals as part of the annual commissioning process. For more details please visit the CBeebies section .
