Commissioning

We are always looking to encourage further working relationships with suppliers in the new media industry by:

• Tendering new commissions from independent suppliers; and
• Enabling suppliers in the new media industry to pitch unsolicited proposals.
• Meeting suppliers through various forums to make the commissioning process more straightforward. Watch the videos of the 2009 Open day and read the August 2009 update on the commissioning process .

Statement of Online Operations (2006)

The BBC operates its commissioning activities under an external quota for bbc.co.uk. This means that at least 25% of eligible spend is spent with external suppliers. The BBC publishes a Statement of Online Operation (2006) (MS Word format), explaining how the quota for bbc.co.uk works.
