How to download

PC VERSION

  1. You will need to download the PressPack_Screensaver_Installer.exe file . When the file download box appears make sure you click 'Save' and not 'Open' (very important). Don't forget which folder you saved it in!

  2. Using file manager or windows explorer, find the saved copy of the file and open it up by double clicking on it. The file will then install itself onto your hard disk.

  3. Once installation is complete, it should become your default screensaver.

APPLE MAC VERSION

  1. Start the download by holding down the 'ALT' key and clicking this link to download the "PressPack_Screensaver_Installer.sit" file .

  2. You will find that the file - "PressPack_Screensaver_Installer.sit" - has been saved onto your onto your DESKTOP.

  3. This file has been compressed using a program called 'DropStuff 5.1'. So you'll need the 'Stuffit Expander 5.5' to extract the file.
(To download a free version of Stuffit Expander, go to (External) http://www.aladdinsys.com )

  4. Once you have Stuffit Expander installed on your machine, open the program up. From the File menu, choose 'Expand'. Select "PressPack_Screensaver_Installer.sit" (remember - it's on the DESKTOP!) and click expand.

  5. Drag the club file into your Control Panels folder, which is located in your System folder on the hard drive.

  6. Double click "cbbc_blobsaver.sit" and the Settings box will pop-up. Click 'on' and choose how many minutes to wait before the screensaver is activated, then close the window.

  7. You will now need to restart your machine.

SCREENSAVER EXPLANATION
This "screensaver" is for entertainment purposes only and is intended for use in conjunction with powersave features of your monitor. If you have the powersave feature active on your computer and the screen blanks out after several minutes of not being used, your screen will be protected.
However, the CBBC "screensaver" itself will not save the phosphors of your screen. If your monitor does not have powersave features (ie, the screen does not shut down after several minutes when not in use) it is advisable to use a regular screensaver with a constantly moving image in order to protect your screen.
DISCLAIMER:
The BBC has taken all reasonable care to ensure the CBBC Screensaver contains no errors, viruses or defects, however, the BBC does not warrant that this is the case.
