question The Questions:
answer The Answers:
It's a place where people can swap messages, share ideas make virtual friends and have conversations.
On other web sites, you might see it referred to as a 'bulletin board', 'notice board' or 'forum'.
You leave a message on the board, it is looked at by a helper and then someone else replies to it.
With a chat, you enter a place called a 'chatroom', where you can talk over the Web with others.
Message boards are different. One person leaves a message and a while later, someone else replies to it.
There are loads of things to do on the message boards, you can talk about your favourite programme, make web pals, leave messages for your favourite stars and talk about your hobbies.
If you click the 'newest messages' button the newest messages appear at the top of the screen. Or you can read all the messages about one subject by clicking the 'see everyone's replies' button. Click on 'Previous' or 'Next' buttons to read some more messages on each subject.
No problem, but you'll have to 'log on' before you can write a message. The very first time you use the message board, you will have to register first.
We're sorry to hear you've forgotten your password or login name. Although it's annoying, we cannot send out people’s passwords and logins for safety reasons.
You'll need to re-register as a new user. (Want to register again now? select this link.)
Unfortunately this will mean you've lost all your posts.
To stop it happening again, why not write your password and your log in name down on two different pieces of paper and keep them in separate, secret places that only you know about?
Don't forget, you can get help and information on the most common problems by clicking "More Info" near the top of any of the message board pages.
Yes. You can then start reading messages straight away!
To register, simply click on the 'Never been here before?' button on the front page of the message board. Read the safety points and click on 'I promise'. Choose a log in name - You will need to remember this for every time you log in to the message board in future. this will not be displayed on the message board
Type in your password twice, and remember it for every time you log in to the message board.
Type in a screen name. This will be seen on the message board and will be the name that other users will know you by.
If all the information is correct, and the log in name has not already been taken then you are ready to start replying and posting messages! See you there!
It's easy - just type your log in name into the text field at the top of the message boards, and then type your password in. Then click go!
After you’ve registered, you can click on either 'Reply' (to an existing message) or choose ‘add a message’ to start a new one.
After you click the 'see your message' button, you will get the chance to post, change or cancel the message.
Once you've confirmed your message, it'll be looked at by a helper and then posted in the message board.
We read every message before it appears on the Message Board. As we get thousands of messages a day, it may take a little while before your message goes up on the board.
If the message board is closed your message will be published when it is next open (open between 9am and 9pm daily).
If your message contains anything rude it won't be posted.
If you have any problems using the message boards then contact us.
If your message seriously breaks the House Rules, we won't be able to put it up on the message board. If your message hasn't appeared after 24 hours and you want to know why your message has not been posted then contact us.
If your password or log-in doesn't work it's usually because the computer is being fussy about capital letters and little letters.
Let's imagine you chose the password "CheesyFeet" when you joined the boards, that means you must type the capital C and the capital F every time you want to log in as if you forget and type "cheesyfeet" without both the capital letters, it locks you out (the same is true for you login name).
If you've tried all possible combinations of your password and it's still not working, we're sorry but you'll have to register again as if you're a new member because we can't give out passwords for security reasons.
Don't write messages with any personal details including full name, school name, address and telephone number.
Don't give out web addresses (URLs) or email addresses.
Try to be friendly to other people, even if you don't agree with them.
CBBC message boards are an adult free zone! If you're 16 or over, check out the other BBC Message Boards.
The CBBC message boards are for mates not dates!

The Internet is a fun place to be, as long as you remember some simple rules. Never give anyone your full name, address, or phone number on the Internet.
When talking to people on the Net, you can't really be sure if they are who they say they are. They may be younger or older than they say. So never arrange to meet anyone for the first time via a message board or chat session.
