ingredients for making the chicken pie

Step 1

Get all of your ingredients together, and start off by mashing your potatoes until they form a smooth paste.

Step 2

jug of water and cup of cornflour

Now add a splash of water to the cornflour.

Step 3

cup of chicken stock

Then add this to your chicken stock. Stir until it's fully dissolved.

Step 4

Get an adult to help you chop all of the vegetables into small pieces. Then mix together the chicken and the pieces of vegetable.

Step 5

Next, add your rice, bulghar wheat, or barley to the mixture of chicken and veg and stir together. It should be smelling really good at this point! Then add the the chicken stock to the mixture.

Step 6

Put the chicken mixture into a small dish and cover it with the mashed potato and get eating! Remember that if you're serving this dish to your dog you must let it cool down, and serve it cold. This is because dogs can't blow on their food to cool it, so they might end up with a burnt tongue if it was too hot.

Try decorating the top of your pie with different doggy designs! You can do this by using a fork.

Check with your vet whether your dog has a special diet as this meal may be unsuitable.
