    About the Pacific Basin Information Node

    The Pacific Basin Information Node (PBIN) is a collaborative group of public and private partners working to improve access to information related to the biological resources of the Pacific Basin region. PBIN provides web-based access to information resources such as research data, expert lists, mapping resources, and educational tools.

    Our Mission:

    PBIN strives to enable effective biodiversity management in the Pacific Basin by providing the basic framework and infrastructure for biodiversity information acquisition, analysis and application.

    We seek to have an impact on the ground.

    The Pacific Basin Information Node (PBIN) connects the biological resources of Hawaii and the U.S. territories of Guam , Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands , and American Samoa .

    The Pacific Basin Information Node is part of a larger network of programs which provide diverse, high-quality biological databases, information products, and analytical tools maintained by NBII partners and other contributors in government agencies, academic institutions, non-government organizations, and private industry.
