Vampire Weekend confirm new year shows

Vampire Weekend Vampire Weekend's Ezra Keonig

Vampire Weekend have confirmed a string of UK shows for the new year.

Ezra Koenig and co will play eight dates beginning on 7 February at Cambridge Corn Exchange.

Last month the band showcased material from their forthcoming second album Contra, out on 11 January, at a show at London's Kings College and made a track, Horchata, available as a free download.

Tickets for the 2010 tour go on sale Friday 6 November at 9am.

The tour dates are:

Cambridge Corn Exchange - 7 February

Manchester Apollo - 8

Leeds O2 Academy - 9

Birmingham O2 Academy - 10

Newcastle O2 Academy - 12

Glasgow Barrowlands - 13

Edinburgh Picture House - 14

London O2 Academy Brixton - 16
