Ian Brown The Stone Roses disbanded after the release of 1994 album Second Coming
Former Stone Roses singer Ian Brown has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting his wife at a house in West Kensington, London.
Mr Brown, 46, was arrested after police were called on Monday morning to reports of a disturbance.
"On arrival, a 37-year-old woman made an allegation of domestic assault," a Scotland Yard spokeswoman said.
He was taken to a west London police station and was bailed to return in December pending further inquiries.
In September, Brown announced that he was planning to write and record an album with The Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr.
In an interview with the BBC News website he also rubbished reports that he had signed up to a Stone Roses reunion tour.
Earlier this year, a 20th anniversary edition of the band's self-titled debut album was released.
They disbanded after the release of 1994 follow-up Second Coming.
