Press Packer Eden says don't blame the postmen

Eden supports the strike Eden supports the strike

Over the past few months postal worker all over the UK have been going on strike because they are not happy about the way they are being treated at work.

Lots of people are annoyed about the problems this is causing, holding up the post.

But for Press Packer Eden the strike is even closer to home, her Dad is a postman and she wants people to see things from his point of view.

"I think that people are not thinking enough about the postmen and postwomen during the current postal strike.

My Dad is a postal worker and he is not getting paid while he is on strike and other people should think about that, not just if a letter will arrive on time or not.

Postal workers don't enjoy being on strike, but feel they have to stand up for what they believe is right.

Fewer jobs

They are not striking because they just want more money, but they are worried that they or their colleagues may lose their jobs and the postal service may not be as good.

If Royal Mail becomes privately owned, there may be fewer jobs and the prices to post a letter would definitely go up and the service would not be as good.

My Dad has worked for the Post Office for 28 years and feels he is being treated badly. I am proud that he and other postal workers are standing up for what they believe in and not letting Royal Mail walk all over them!

Hard to manage

So I think that people should take into consideration what I feel about the strike and other postal workers and their families and what they are going through instead of if they'll get a letter tomorrow or not.

The longer the strike goes the more postal families will find it hard to manage and pay their bills.

With more strikes happening soon people should see it with an alternative view. I think that the postal workers are right to make a stand."
