A cell There are over 1,000 children under 16 in custody in the UK.
The age of responsibility in the UK is 10, which means you are held responsible for your crimes from that age, and could be locked up.
But being locked up is the last resort, and only happens if a child has committed a really bad crime, like murder, or if they have broken the law lots of times.
