Nigel Bacon Nigel Bacon suffered six stab wounds, tests revealed
A woman accused alongside her son of plotting the death of her husband wept as she heard the 999 call in court.
Gamekeeper Nigel Bacon, 50, was found with stab wounds on the drive of his home in Clumber Park, Nottinghamshire, on 26 November 2008.
Susan Bacon, 55, and her son Michael, 21, deny murder. Also accused are Sean Woodcock, 42, and Peter Jacques, 29.
Mrs Bacon wept in the dock at Nottingham Crown Court as she heard the call to emergency services.
Jurors were told Mrs Bacon deliberately turned off the outside lights at the house so co-defendant Peter Jacques could attack her husband.
'Greed and loathing'
She and her son, Michael Bacon, are accused of hiring Mr Jacques to kill Nigel Bacon.
Defendant Sean Woodcock, Michael Bacon's father-in-law, was brought in by Susan Bacon and her son to help to recruit the killer, the court heard.
The prosecution allege the debt-ridden Bacons planned the killing through a "combination of greed and loathing".
Mr Bacon died after he was stabbed six times at Keeper's Cottage, near Clumber Park.
Mr Woodcock and Mr Jacques both deny murder.
The jury of six men and six women heard a 999 call made by Susan Bacon just after the stabbing.
The trial continues.
