Woman is raped by internet dater

Police e-fit of alleged rapist The suspect is in his late 40s and called himself Derek

A woman has been attacked and raped at her south London home by a man she met on the internet.

Police said the attack, which took place on 30 September, may have been carried out when her three-year-old son was present at the property in Sutton.

The victim, 23, had met her attacker several times, but was punched and knocked unconscious by the man.

He is described as white, in his late 40s and called himself Derek. He was driving a green Land Rover.

Police said the woman later managed to escape with her son and fled the flats.

Detectives said that on the day of the attack the pair had met on the M2 and the man followed her to a block of flats within 10 minutes drive of the centre of Sutton.

But while drinking tea the woman was punched in the face and knocked unconscious before being assaulted.

The vehicle used by the man had a canvas roof and the spare wheel attached to the rear is described as having a cover bearing an eagle design.

Police released an e-fit of the suspect and appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
