More than 60 workers at an East Yorkshire container company are set to be made redundant after the company went into administration.
Yorkshire Marine Containers Ltd (YMCL) said 66 workers were affected. The company's two sites are based at Beverley and at Catfoss.
The company, which was founded in 1976, provides containers for the refuse and special waste industries.
It said a "lack of orders" had led to the redundancies.
The company employs a total of 91 staff. The remaining 25 workers will be be kept on to "fulfil existing orders".
Joint administrator John Sumpton of Ernst and Young said: " YMCL has an excellent reputation and customer base as well as modern manufacturing facilities.
"Whilst the recent trading conditions have been unfavourable, we believe the business represents an excellent investment opportunity and therefore we are hopeful of finding a buyer for the business.
"The company has suffered a significant reduction in orders due to the global downturn in demand and consequently it has been necessary to make 66 redundancies after our appointment."
