Actor Dyer 'upset' over car theft

Danny Dyer One of Dyer's cars was abandoned nearby

British actor Danny Dyer has been forced to cut short some promotional interviews for his latest DVD because of a theft at his home in Essex.

The 32-year-old actor, who is releasing Danny Dyer's Football Foul-ups in time for Christmas, had two cars stolen from his property on Monday night.

He told The Sun newspaper: "It's the lowest point of my life."

A spokesman for the actor said the interviews were postponed because the star was "very upset" by the incident.

"His mind was elsewhere for some of the interviews - not in an unprofessional way - but you could tell that he was troubled."

'Panicked'

The theft took place while Dyer and his family - including two children - were asleep at home.

Dyer woke to find his Porsche and Mercedes missing.

"My 13-year-old is really upset and scared. She feels unsafe in her own home," Dyer said.

"I feel like I've let them down as a father."

The police later found one of the cars abandoned nearby.

"Luckily I'm lazy and I didn't fill it up, so they probably panicked and just dumped it," Dyer said.

Dyer is best known for starring in films such as The Football Factory, The Business and Dead Man Running.
