Dylan harmonica goes for £2,700

Harmonica The harmonica was presented to a member of Dylan's wardrobe team

A harmonica owned by music legend Bob Dylan has been sold for £2,700 at auction in Norfolk, more than four times the guide price.

The 68-year-old American singer-songwriter presented the chromonica harmonica, made by Hohner, to a member of his wardrobe department in 1974.

Lifetime Dylan fan John Fellas, of Gorleston, Norfolk, outbid fans across the world for the instrument.

The inside of the harmonica case is signed and dedicated by Dylan.

It had is expected to fetch more than £600 at the sale by Barnes Auctioneers.

Mr Fellas is an electrician who wore Dylan-style sunglasses while bidding.

He said he was still plucking up the courage to tell his wife what he had done.

He said: "I read about it in a local newspaper yesterday and I just had to have it.

"I've just grown up with Dylan. I love him. And it's not every day you get a bit of Dylan memorabilia on sale in Norwich.

"I've got a wife who thinks I'm mad. I haven't told her about this yet," he added.
