What's On

BBC National Orchestra and Chorus of Wales

CITY OF DREAMS, VIENNA

It exudes old world charm, intimacy and a famously relaxed lifestyle, but Vienna was also, for over 150 years, the musical capital of the world, heir to a great tradition where reputations were both made and broken. Schubert and Alban Berg were born there and many others, from Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven to Brahms, Mahler and Schoenberg, made it their home. Throughout the next season, the BBC National Orchestra of Wales trace the music that emerged from 'the city of dreams' revealing its charm, tradition and its darker underside.
