Prepare to be spooked in the Halloween Spooktacular The BBC National Orchestra of Wales and National Youth Orchestra of Wales will be joining forces for a collaborative Halloween Spooktacular family concert on Friday 24 October at St David's Hall, Cardiff at 7.00pm.
The evening of entertainment will include fun, spine chilling music and things that go bump in the night. The programme features a great line-up of scary sounds, including themes from favourite films and TV programmes such as Pirates of the Caribbean , Harry Potter and Batman . Plus there's magic in The Sorcerer's Apprentice by Dukas, and a chance to take a trip through time and space with the famous theme tune from Doctor Who as well as some of the creepiest music ever written.
BBC National Orchestra of Wales will be joined by world famous Welsh conductor Grant Llewellyn, a past member of National Youth Orchestra of Wales who has led many of our popular family events.
Pre-concert fun: The concert begins at 7.00pm with pre-concert fun and activities from 6.00pm on Level 3 of St David's Hall and during the interval. Everyone is invited to join in with the spirit of the event by coming in Halloween fancy dress.
Booking Information Tickets for the concert are £8 (or £5 for children, over 60s, disabled patrons plus one companion, claimants and MAX card holders) and are available from the BBC National Orchestra of Wales Audience Line on 0800 052 1812. Family tickets are also available from just £11.50.
Education and Chorus project linked to the BBC Wales Carol Concert Culminating Saturday 12 December 2009, St David's Hall Cardiff This education singing project will involve primary school children from across South Wales working with BBC National Chorus of Wales Artistic Director, Adrian Partington and Chorus Manager, Osian Rowlands in a series of singing workshops. The project will culminate in a special performance at the BBC Wales Carol Concert at St David's Hall, Cardiff on Saturday 12 December 2009.
