Jac van Steen and the BBC National Orchestra of Wales

Composers are invited to submit a score to be considered for the BBC National Orchestra of Wales Welsh Composers Showcase in January 2010. Selected scores for this unique and exciting opportunity will be featured in the two day Welsh Composers Showcase event in January 2010 at BBC Hoddinott Hall in Cardiff Bay. The project will be led by Principal Guest Conductor of BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Jac van Steen.
The project forms part of the Education and Community Outreach activity of BBC National Orchestra of Wales and aims to showcase works by living Welsh composers worthy of wider exposure. Organised in collaboration with Composers of Wales, Ty Cerdd and the Welsh Music Guild, it includes workshops and a free concert featuring highlights from the project - all open to public audiences.
Composers eligible to submit a score are as follows: - Post tertiary education composers born in Wales - Post tertiary education composers currently living in Wales - Composers studying composition at Post-Graduate level in Wales - Composers born in Wales studying composition at Post-Graduate level outside Wales but within the U.K.
Deadline for submission of scores: 10.00 on Monday 19 October 2009. Selected compositions and composers will be announced via the BBC National Orchestra of Wales website on Friday 27 November 2009.

Friday 29 January 2010 - Workshops - 14.00-17.00 - Concert - 19.00
